Summer 2018 Teaching Institutes
Cornell graduate students and postdocs are invited to register for multi-day teaching institutes being hosted across the CIRTL Network in Summer 2018. Some institutes provide meals or partial lodging. If you are a Cornell community member interested in applying for travel reimbursement contact Dr. Colleen McLinn at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible after applying to the desired institute. Preference will be given to participants in CIRTL at Cornell certificate programs.

This institute consists of teaching practice, theory application, and topical sessions specifically relevant to STEM Graduate Students and scholars new to teaching. This 5 day online workshop designed to have participants meet the goals and learning outcomes of the CIRTL Associates Level Certificate. During the workshop participants will be engaged in both asynchronous and synchronous on-line presentations, discussions and working groups to develop a teaching activity that incorporates the CIRTL Core Ideas. The Drexel CIRTL Summer Institute on Quality Assessment Practices offers a three-day institute to STEM graduate and post-docs to advance their knowledge of principles and techniques in assessment. The institute includes tools, resources, and sessions on effective assessment techniques that will help improve teaching and STEM research effectiveness.
