CIRTL at Cornell offers a diverse range of both in-person and online workshops and networking opportunities for future faculty preparation. Programming is aimed at graduate students and postdocs, although faculty and staff are encouraged to join in learning communities on important topics in teaching, research, and mentoring.

Programming is offered in partnership with the national CIRTL NetworkCenter for Teaching Innovation (CTI) and other Graduate School offices such as the Office of Inclusion and Student Engagement (OISE), and Office of Postdoctoral Studies.

Overview of programs by level of commitment:

Low Commitment or Drop-In (1-2 hours/week)

  • Academic Job Search Series workshops and job search discussions – in partnership with the Office of Postdoctoral Studies; summer, fall, spring
  • My Voice, My Story interactive theater program on graduate climate – in partnership with OISE
  • Inclusive Excellence Workshops – Highlighting visiting speakers and special events, bringing together alumni of the Inclusive Teaching Institute

Since 2015, CIRTL at Cornell also offers both short-term and high-engagement activities enabling graduate students and postdocs to earn nationally recognized certificates at the level of CIRTL Associate, Practitioner, and Scholar.
